The analysis of socio-economic data by methods of multidimensional scaling

The investigation of consumption with the help of multidimensional scaling involves scientific value and practical interest. In this research work there are presented: basic theoretical sending of metrical multidimensional scaling and the analysis of consumption practice of people in Samara within the situation of structural changes of market by methods of metrical multidimensional scaling. The objects of examination are population groups which have differences in age and in income level of one family member in a month. The difference is presented with the help of the indices, reflecting the scale of correspondence of each consuming practice for society of consumption. Using the facilities of SPSS, there were estimated the positions of stimulus of theoretical space of latent factors. The objects of this research work are presented in two-dimensional scaling space.
